Welcome to the National Health Law Conference

The graduate program in Health Law and Policy of the Faculté de droit of the Université de Sherbrooke is pleased to host the next National Health Law Conference which will be held in Montreal (Hyatt Regency Montreal), the 2nd and 3rd of October 2009. The conference theme, Grand Challenges in Health Law & Policy, is modeled after a concept formulated by noted mathematician, David Hilbert, over a century ago and adopted recently by the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation initiative in its approach to the major challenges in global health.

For the purposes of this conference, our goal is to identify those grand challenges and to propose viable initiatives offering various strategies for resolving certain key issues in the Canadian health care sector. It is intended that the various courses suggested to the several challenges faced by our health care system will enable it to adapt to the reality of pressing current and future needs.
